Colin Cross is an English maker. He graduated from Newark School of Violin Making with a Distinction in 1989 and has been working as a maker and a restorer ever since. His instruments are sought after particularly by professional orchestra musicians for their tonal quality and are being played worldwide (Australia, USA, France and Germany as well as in the UK).
Colin’s craftmanship is influenced mainly by Cremonese, Milanese and Venetian models and finished with his own recipe spirit varnish. The varnish of this cello is of a light golden orange colour which is typical of the maker’s work.
The sound of this cello is extremely rich and resonant.
